Moira Demesne in danger! ⚠️

The children of P4 are OUTRAGED! We have received news in our story box that a horrible man called Paul Barnes is planning to build 257 house on our beautiful Moira Demense! The children of P4 will be working very hard over the next few weeks to ensure this does not happen! They are passionate about saving the habitats for our wildlife, our outdoor classroom and the area for the community! We will keep you up to date with our progress!

Today Primary 4 had fun using Dienes to practically add 2 and 3 digit numbers 🤩

ABL Activities - investigating friction, writing a job description for a historian, labelling human and physical features of the school and using compass points and grid references to give directions.

P4 received a letter this morning from a local estate agent, asking for some helping sorting and rounding the prices of houses into different budgets. P4 did a super job, and used a categorising frame to help them!

P4 were very excited to open a STORY BOX 🪄 we received a handwritten letter, some clues and a map which we followed to Moira Demesne!

P4 enjoyed learning about rounding to the nearest ten through a carousel of practical activities

Our tasks included:

1. Using our rounding skills to park the cars in Howard Abrahams garage

2. Recycling the lollipop sticks into the correct bins

3. A rounding board game

4. And 4 in a row

P4 are so excited after having their very first Mandarin lesson 🇨🇳

Congratulations to our brave children who presented a speech about why they should be a member of the ECO committee or Pupil Council. It was a tough decision but the pupils voted for Sam as the P4M ECO committee member and Tobin as Pupil councillor! Well done boys 👏 🌟

Today Primary 4 took a trip to Moira Demesne armed with their iPads in search of inspirational places to photograph and describe. The children were very good at using adjectives to describe what they could see, hear and feel and then used this in the classroom to create descriptive PicCollages which will help us write our poems over the next few days
