3D shapes

We have been exploring the difference between 2D and 3D shapes. We worked together to make 3D shape towers. This involved problem solving how to make the base of our tower as steady as possible and working out what 3D shapes did not create a steady construction.

Measuring Length

We worked together to make a moving vehicle using small construction materials. We then took a photograph, printed it and used them to measure lots of different items in the school grounds. We worked on using correct mathematical language associated with length and size and found lots of things that were longer, shorter or the same length as our constructions.

Estimation

We have been learning how to estimate. We played a game with our partner and had great fun making good estimations.
