Today for Autism Awareness day, P4 read a fantastic book called A Friend like Simon. We discussed how Simon felt and watched a video through the eyes of someone with autism. The children then completed retrieval task that focused on showing our understanding of Matthew and his new friend Simon
Today the aspiring poets of P4M took a trip to Moira Demesne armed with their iPads in search of inspirational places to photograph and describe (we even brought Mr Ford along with us) ๐ The children were very good at using adjectives to describe what they could see, hear and feel and then used this in the classroom to create descriptive PicCollages which will help us write our poems over the next few days… here is a sneak peek of our ideas ๐ก
Today the children completed 5 rounding challenges.
Group 1: used their rounding knowledge to park cars in the correct parking lot at Howard Abrahams.
Group 2: placed the lollipop sticks in the correct recycling bins according to the number they found to.
Group 3: played rounding 4 in a row
Group 4: challenged each other in a rounding race
Group 5: consolidated all their rounding knowledge on a ‘Football shoot out’ using the iPads
