Back to Nursery!

The children enjoyed their first day back to Nursery, seeing their friends and teachers! Outside they enjoyed exploring the nursery again and were noticing some signs of Winter. The water in the tuff tray had frozen and changed into ice! We noticed that it was cold outside and frosty. We had to wrap up warm in our coats, hats and gloves! We noticed that our onion and garlic plants have started to sprout and grow. Our bean stalks are also growing very tall!

The Bird’s Nest

Mrs Heasley found a bird’s nest and brought it in to show the boys and girls. The children were fascinated by it and they looked closely to see what it was made from! We read a story about a Little Lost Robin. The children wondered if the nest belonged to a Robin!   Mrs Heasley found some bird watching books for the children to find out some bird names and some interesting facts. We are excited to feed the birds in our nursery garden and make our own birds nests in the coming weeks!

Winter is here!

The children enjoyed exploring the school grounds today on their winter walk! They were observing the changes that Winter brings. They noticed that the trees were bare and that the water had frozen into ice! They said that the grass was hard and crunchy when they walked on it. They also noticed that it was cold and they could see their breath! ❄️ when we got back to the classroom, we made some winter-inspired artwork! We added glitter and salt to the paint to created an ice effect.
