Eco School

The new 2023-24 ECO councilors decided to improve our previous ECO code by updating it with new phrases linked to all of our ECO targets this year. They created a draft ECO code and then spent time in their classes collecting their peers feedback. They took the feedback on board and have created a whole school ECO code! Well done to the whole school for collaborating on our new ECO code! 

Green Flag Awards

Moira Primary School has been awarded two Green Flag Awards. The Eco-Schools Programme is the worlds largest Environmental Education programme and aims to make environmental awareness and action an intrinsic part of the life and ethos of a school. Its participatory approach and combination of learning and action makes it an ideal way for to improve our school environment and that of the local community. The internationally recognised Green Flag is this highest award given to Eco-Schools and symbolises excellence in the field of environmental activity. Our pupils and staff have continued to amaze the Eco Schools assessors with their knowledge and enthusiasm and it is extremely encouraging to see the many benefits of the Eco-Schools programme, such as additional opportunities for pupil engagement, cost savings and environmental improvement, being implemented here at Moira Primary School.
