We have started our new topic for term 2B. This half term we will be learning all about ‘Growing Things’ 🌻🌿🥕 Keep an eye out for our own planting activities this half term! We can’t wait to plant and care for different plants and seeds.

We have been enjoying the story, ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ 🥕 🥔 We were learning all about PowerPoint presentations this week and then had to edit a slide on a PowerPoint all about the ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’ story. It was quite tricky, but we really enjoyed getting to use the computer suite and we are getting better and better at word processing!

We took a walk to the school garden to fill some plant pots with compost. We enjoyed filling them to different levels. Before we left we made sure the pots were empty. Next week we hope to  plant sunflowers and different vegetables in pots.

We worked together to correct the sequence of ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ 📖 There was lots to remember, so it was tricky, but we all helped each other! 

We practised writing our numbers. Our rhymes help us to write them the correctly.

We made fairy houses for the garden during Play Based Learning 🧚‍♀️

We made our own seed packets with instructions on how to plant and care for a pea seed.

Outdoor Learning

We are happy that the weather has dried up and we were able to get back out to our outdoor learning area. We had fun clearing all the flowerbeds to prepare for the new spring flowers 🌸
