This afternoon, John Kelly (a waste education officer for our local council) joined our ECO committee meeting and helped us reflect on how our school recycles and how we can continue to improve and promote this within our school and local area. We will continue to work with John to improve our waste management and hope you will see the improvements around our school too!
The ECO committee started an environmental review of our school. We started by reviewing our waste management policy, our outdoor space and reflecting on how biodiverse we are. We will then use future meetings to work on our action plan and continue to improve our school environment.
Alongside our Digital Leaders and our School Councillors, our ECO committee members proudly showcased how our school promotes a healthy lifestyle. They spoke to the members of Moira community about how we promote healthy lifestyles and offered a taste of the delicious energy balls that they made in school on Thursday. We are extremely proud of the ECO committee for giving up their free time to represent our school. A big well done to all who were involved ๐
This week the ECO club decided to focus on improving our environment by planting some bulbs. We are looking forward to seeing these bulbs grow into spring flowers early next year
This week in ECO club the children explored the litter they picked up last week, made bar charts to represent our finding and made some posters to display around the school.
The ECO club is a group of pupils from P4 and P5 who choose to stay after school to follow their passion for everything ECO related. As you can see these children have already made a positive impact by completing a litter pick around our school grounds. They recycled a lot of rubbish and recycled a lot of toys and equipment that they found around our school grounds. Well done ECO club! ๐
