  • First Minister Visits Moira PS

    We were delighted to welcome the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Mrs Arlene Foster to our school yesterday. She heard the choir sing "Truly Scrumptious" and then answered some difficult questions from our School Council.
  • SPORT - Cross Country - NI Finals

    Well done to the Boy's Team and Ella and Anna for their tremendous effort in the NI Finals Cross Country Race. There were approximately 200 runners in each race.

     

    The race took place at City of Belfast Playing Fields, Mallusk.

     

    They all should be very proud of themselves.

     

    Thanks again to all parents who helped with lifts or came to support.

  • SPORT - Football - Under 11 Cup

    The boys have been competing in the Under 11 Cup this term.  We played Rowendale IPS in the First Round and beat them 4-0.

     

    Our second round match was against Finaghy PS.  The boys again played very well, scoring some exciting goals, beating them 7-0.

     

    We are now due to play Old Warren PS in the quarter finals at Laurelhill Sportszone on Thursday 3rd March @2:00pm.

     

    Thanks again must go to Stuart and Matt who transported us using the 'Logic bus' and other people who travelled to give support.

  • SPORT - Sportshall Athletics

    Today we competed in the Lisburn & Castlereagh Sportshall Athletics Event, held at Lagan Valley Leisureplex.

     

    We had a team consisting of 4 boys and 4 girls.  They participated in a number of events, which included:

     

    1. 60m sprint
    2. Chest Push
    3. Standing Broad Jump
    4. Speed Bounce
    5. Mixed Relay
    6. Long Distance































     

    There were a total of 23 schools involved and we are pleased to announce that the team won the overall prize of the best school.  Congratulations must also go the Charlie and Jasmine as winners of the long distance event and Charlie, Jasmine, Alice and Sam who won the mixed relay.

     

    We are very proud of the whole team - WELL DONE!!!!

  • SPORT - Cross country - Round 3

    Well done to all the runners who took part in Round 3 of the Athletics NI cross country race.  This race was held at Banbridge Academy in rather cold conditions.

    Special congratulations must go to Ella Latuske who finished 3rd, our girls' and boys' team who also finished 3rd. 

    Our best two scores from the three rounds are added together, with the top three teams and the top five individuals who are not in the top three teams going forward to the NI Finals.  We are delighted to say that the boys' team, Ella and Anna will be representing our school at these finals - a tremendous achievement!

  • Netball Team

    The netball team had a great win over Ballymacricket at the Lisburn Leisureplex. It was their first match as a team and they were able to score 3 goals compared to Ballymacricket's 1.
    They were full of enthusiasm on the way there and even more so on the way back.
    Well done girls.  We look forward to the next matches on the 3rd of March.

  • SPORT - Cross country

    Well done to all the runners who took part in Round 2 of the Athletics NI Cross Country League.  The race took place in Palace Demesne, Armagh, with conditions being very wet and muddy.
     
    Special congratulations to Faith who came second in the Girls Fun Run race and to Ella who came third in the Girls Team Race.

  • SPORT - Cross country

    After a very busy start to the year, were 118 P5, P6 and P7 pupils participated in cross-country trails, we had to decide upon a squad of 46.

    The squad have been training well and we took part in the first round of the NI Athletics Cross-country League.  This took place at Lurgan Park on Wednesday 14th October.  We entered a Girls' Team, a Boys' Team and two 'Fun Run' teams. (26 runners in total)

    Well done to all runners and special congratulations to the Boys and Girls' team who both finished third out of nineteen schools.

    Many thanks to all the parents for your support.

    The next round will be held at Palace Stables, Co. Armagh on Wednesday 2nd December 2015, starting at 11:00am.
