INTERNET SAFETY DAY 2017
During school today, each class took time to discuss the importance of being safe while online.
There were stories, quizzes, puzzles and lots of discussion on what we can do, to keep safe while on the internet.
REMEMBER THOSE INTERNET SAFETY RULES!!
Congratulations to all the winners of Pupil of the Month.
This month we had been looking for good presentation skills or those children who had been working really hard at improving the presentation of their work.
WELL DONE EVERYONE!
Next month we will be looking for those children who are displaying good listening skills.
As part of our work through Eco Club, Mr. Gray took some pupils to discuss the garden birds found around Moira.
We looked at nesting boxes and how the size of hole on the front varied in size, depending on the type of bird. We constructed three nesting boxes, with different sized holes for our school grounds.
The children used their mathematical skills to measure and mark where needed drilling.
The children gained some 'DIY' experience in using a square, hammer, drill and impact driver.
Congratulations to all the runners who have competed in the Flavahans Primary School Xcountry League organised by Athletics NI over the three rounds.
After our three rounds we are delighted to say that the girls' team has made the NI Finals. Unfortunately the boys' team just missed out as they finished fourth, although Harry has progressed to the finals, as he finished in the top 5 individuals who were not part of the top three schools.
The finals will take place in February at the City of Belfast playing Fields in Mallusk.
This is a tremendous achievement, well done to all!!!
A huge 'Well Done' to all the runners that raced today in Round 3 of the Flavahans Primary Schools XCountry League.
This took place at Banbridge Academy and consisted of a fun run race, girls' race and a boys' race.
Special mention must go to Ella won the girls' race and Harry who came second in the boys' race.
We await to hear full results, as this will determine if we have reached the NI Finals. Only the top three teams from each area will progress.
Full results will be posted soon on the Athletics NI website.....

Through the IFA, P4's have been learning and developing their fundamental movement skills. This has been taking place at school on a Wednesday afternoon and will continue until the end of the year.
Gary Devenney, IFA Coach, is teaching important skills of agility, balance and teamwork as well as many others.
It is an enjoyable time for all!
