The Education Authority must provide assistance with school transport where a child meets the eligibility criteria. Your child will be entitled to transport assistance (payment of car allowances) if there is no suitable school within 2 miles of your home, or if they have been refused a place in all suitable schools within the statutory qualifying distance from your home.
Once transport assistance payments have been awarded they will automatically be reissued (roll-over) each academic year unless you change address or change school, in which case you must submit a new application form for reassessment.
