Digital Leader Meetings 2024-2025

Monday 9th September 2024

All children who completed an application form to become a Digital Leader for 2024-2025, were invited to the UICT Suite to complete an assessment task. They were required to show their typing and computer navigational skills by creating a poster to highlight what we will be look at in ICT this year at Moira Primary School:

  • Film and Animation
  • Coding
  • Accessibility Tools
  • Evaluating

From this, 3 children were selected to represent each class in Primary 6 and 7. The newly appointed 12 Digital Leaders across the four classes met to outline our views and expectations for the year ahead. Well done to all those pupils who were selected!

Friday 31st January 2025

Our Digital Leaders were tasked with the job of choosing activities for each year group for this year’s Safer Internet Day.

The theme for 2025 is - ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online’.

The digital leaders spent time reading through the different activities and deciding which is most appropriate for each year group.

Their final decisions were -

Primary 1 - Trusted Adults

Primary 2 - The Big Picture

Primary 3 - How would it feel?

Primary 4 - Personal Information Card Games

Primary 5 - Let’s go Phishing

Primary 6 - Protect your Profile

Primary 7 - Signs of a Scam

Look out for the newsletter article to follow to read more about what the children got up to and for photos of our Safer Internet Day 2025.

Thank you and well done Digital Leaders!

Monday 17th March 2025

Our Digital Leaders met together to discuss and update our school's child friendly e-safety policy. They had a great discussion about how we use the internet inside and outside of school, the importance of being safe online and appropriate use of the internet.

Take a look at our updated child friendly e-safety policy below.
