P4 stepped back in time and recorded a news flash from 6th May 1941 π₯
Inspired by our own experience of the Blitz attack, P4 decided to create some artwork to represent the impact of the attack on the landscape
Today we used a connecting frame to match digital clocks to analogue clocks π£

So many of our children have been able to bring in real artefacts from World War 2... they are fascinating! Today Eli brought in 2 hats- an Air Warden helmet, and an American helmet πͺ We also were able to read a letter exchanged between Eliβs Great-Great Granny and her cousin, which gives us a real insight into the Belfast Blitz βοΈ ! We had great fun looking at all of these things today
We made a human connecting frame outdoors to help us connect adjectives to their noun/verb! We just had to make use of the sunshine βοΈ
Using a connecting frame to turn nouns into adjectives
Today in our Science lesson, we have been making circuits and then using our knowledge to find faults in other circuits π‘
Charlieβs Great-Grandad was also involved in World War 2! Charlie was able to bring in an ammunition belt and a water bottle from the war to show everyone else! We even got to try them on and hold them- How amazing!
Archieβs Great-Grandad was a General in WW2! Archie was able to bring in a photo of him, and some of his medals.... What a privilege we have to see these items!
We are so fortunate that Matthewβs Great Granny was a nurse in WW2, and we are able to watch videos of her talking about her experience in the war! She will be 103 at the end of May... wow!!
Rugby success π We are so proud of Matthew and Archie for receiving awards for their hard efforts in rugby! Well done boys ππΌ
After experiencing the Blitz , we asked each other questions about our experience and interviewed each other as witnesses to a historical event
This morning Primary 4 were shocked to come into school to experience a Blitz attack! Our room had been destroyed and we were in a blackout. Luckily the boys and girls were smart enough to hide under their Morrison shelters.
β‘οΈπ‘ we used an electrical circuit to help us find out what materials are conductors and which are insulators! It was fascinating to try out the different materials!
We used the acronym βHOMERβ to help us reconstruct a newspaper report a WW2 attack ποΈ
Today we used historical sources to explore life during World War 2 π΅οΈββοΈ
