Today we took part in Moira Primary School’s Problem Solving Day. We looked at patterns and sequences relating to the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar 🐛 We also used logic to sort 3D shapes into categories. We learnt how to draw pictures and make models to help us to problem solve. Here we are making a model to show how many leaves Colin the Caterpillar ate compared to Sammy the Caterpillar!

We have been working on nonsense poems and have created some fantastic pieces of writing! Here are our digital drawings to illustrate our class poem ‘The Fox and the Chicken’

We learnt how to sort using Carroll diagrams. It was tricky, but we will practise until it becomes easy!

We have been learning about halves and quarters by folding paper shapes. We made a lot of discoveries about shapes when we sorted our findings into a venn diagram.

Today we were on the go! Working with a partner to complete a car colour survey.🚗🚙🚕🚓

What a busy ABL! Force experiments, programming Beebots, constructing vehicles with Lego and of course, planning your trip abroad at the Travel Agents!

Playing ‘Bingo’ is a great way to practice this month’s geographical vocabulary!

Today we were using ‘the force’- testing the strength of a variety of magnets 🧲

28 P3s all printing their chosen mode of transport! This needed skill, precision and patience. Fabulous end result!

We used Dienes and a ‘whole part’ thinking frame to help us understand a little more about tens and units.

This month our topic is Travel and Transport. We decided to become researchers, using the iPads to source information using a search engine. We found out lots of fun facts!
