School Uniform

School Uniform

School Uniform

We are genuinely so grateful to the majority of parents who send their children to school each day wearing the appropriate uniform requirements.

Our policy for school uniform is based on the notion that school uniform:

  • Promotes a sense of pride and respect for the school
  • Engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school
  • Contributes to the ethos of high expectations throughout the school
  • Helps to maintain an orderly atmosphere in which learning can flourish
  • Is practical and smart
  • Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance

Our School Uniform consists of the following:

  • Grey round neck sweatshirt with school logo worn over a red polo-shirt
  • Grey skirts, pinafores or shorts/trousers for girls and grey shorts/trousers for boys
  • Optional red checked dresses for girls in the summer term worn with red cardigans
  • White knee-length socks for girls (plain red/grey tights in colder weather if wished)
  • Grey socks for boys
  • Black shoes (no trainers) - spare pairs of shoes of all sizes, purchased by the school, are kept for children to avail of, as and when the need arises i.e. when black shoes are not worn to school as expected.

The Following items are not part of our school’s uniform policy

  • Cardigans (only to be worn with summer dresses)
  • Large hair decorations
  • Black trainers

Uniform can be purchased from McCalls (Lisburn).

P.E. Uniform

Our PE kit consists of children wearing navy tracksuit bottoms/shorts with their normal red polo-shirts and grey sweatshirts.  As an alternative to the red polo-shits and grey sweatshirts, we encourage P3-P7 children to wear our branded ¼ zip-tops (£28) and t-shirts (£18.50) available for purchase, throughout the year, from the School Money app.

The school’s PE kit is only to be worn on PE days, and days when children are attending after-school activities of a sporting nature.

We would prefer that no pierced jewellery of any kind be worn in school.  However, one pair of stud earrings, worn in the earlobe, will be allowed.  Any children with pierced ears will be asked to remove their earrings for P.E. or cover them with plasters.  Children are permitted to wear a watch but no bracelets, wrist chains, necklaces or rings are permitted for Health and Safety reasons.

Hairstyles should not be extreme in nature and moderate hair accessories should be in the school colours.

All items of uniform should be labelled clearly with the child’s name and class.

Nursery Uniform

In Nursery, the children have lots of practical experiences, some of them very messy! Sometimes accidents occur and children may get their clothes marked or wet. The Nursery uniform is informal and practical and consists of a red round-neck sweatshirt with school logo worn over a grey polo shirt, and navy or black jogging bottoms.
