Healthy Eating / Drinking
We at Moira Primary School recognise the important connection between a healthy diet and a pupil’s ability to learn effectively and achieve high standards in school. We promote our Healthy Eating Policy as follows:
Break - A healthy break scheme operates within Moira P.S. which advocates children eating fruit, raw vegetables, a bread snack, yoghurt or cheese (crisps, sweets, biscuits, cake or chocolate are strongly discouraged) and drinking water, pure fruit juice and milk.
Breakfast Club / M-Club - Children at the school can access our Wrap-Around-Care facility where healthy items such as cereal, milk, fruit juice, water and toast are served daily.
Water - We encourage pupils to bring a sipper bottle of water to school each day as research shows that drinking water enhances concentration.
