Trips

P7 had a very enjoyable trip to Armagh Planetarium today. The visit started with a show in the theatre which gave a great insight into what it's like to be an astronaut. We also learned about our solar system and had a glimpse at what the stars will look like in tonight's sky. The highlight of the show, for many, was the virtual rollercoaster ride on "Armaghgeddon! "

We then constructed rockets (complete with astronauts), fuelled them and launched them outside. The landing capsules were reclaimed afterwards - sadly there were no survivors.

Inside again we learnt about the International Space Station and had a chance to handle space rock.

After lunch we visited the shop and had an opportunity to gather facts from the exhibitions and interactive displays.

The Planetarium staff were quite impressed with our knowledge of space but, after today, we have all certainly expanded our learning!
