Breads from the past

Lucy's Granny owned a bakery in Armagh. She told Lucy all about bread from the past so Lucy prepared an excellent Powerpoint presentation on it. We also enjoyed sampling bread which was popular in the past. There was fruit treacle, lodger loaf, barn brack, Paris burns and flies graveyards. Paris buns were definitely the favourite and flies graveyard the least pooular. We would like to thank Lucy and her Granny for the lovely treat.

This week in maths we are investigating right angles.  We have done lots of practical activities such as

  • a right angle hunt in the classroom.
  • drawing right angle pictures which had to have a certain number of right angles.
  • making right angles and angles greater than and less than a right angle from Meccano
  • replicating the angle between the hands on a clock with their own arms
