IFA FESTIVAL DAY
We all had great fun at the IFA Festival Day. The children used some of the skills that they have been working on from September.
We shared resources that the children had brought in. Everyone had an opportunity to have a good look at them and talk about them to the class.
We also had a look at the WW2 projects that have been worked on with great enthusiasm for the last 3 weeks.
It was great to see all the effort and learn all about family members that were in the war. Big thanks to parents for supporting your children in this project.
I can't wait to read them all!
Hannah and her sister Lucy from P4S made an Anderson shelter with attached vegetable garden.
Must have taken ages! Super well done to everyone!
We have been learning all about grams and kilograms. The children had a lot of fun weighing potatoes, carrots, lentils, rice krispies and lots more stuff! There were a few spillages but it didn't matter. Great investigating and estimations were carried out as the children got their hands on weights and balance scales.
The Interactive Whiteboard was used for playing games where the children had to read scales.
They even had the opportunity to visit McBride's Grocery Store to check out the weights!
We had a great trip to the Palace Stables in Armagh to support out topic on WW2. The children got the opportunity to be an evacuee for the day.

NO RIGHT ANGLES, 1 RIGHT ANGLE AND MORE THAN 1 RIGHT ANGLE. It wasn't long until the classroom was turned upside down in their enthusiastic quest for right angles. They even took to drawing some. They did a super job!
We had great fun today making pancakes in P4. We investigated the ingredients and possible toppings, had a look at the equipment needed and the method of how to make the pancakes. Tossing was great fun and cracking the eggs was harder than we had imagined.
Enjoy looking at how we got on and a few videos taken by the children!
We had a great time in the recycling bus learning all about how to recycle our waste.
The children had the opportunity to make a plant holder using paper. They added soil and then some cress seeds.
We look forward to seeing what happens next with the plants.
CHECK OUT the video for tips on how to look after the plant.
