9th January

This week we are continuing to work within 8. We are doing lots of problem solving tasks which require us to count and make sets, use comparison language and work in a group.. Today we put different numbers of bears on a baseboard which had 2 vehicles. We worked out which vehicle had more bears.
Today we practised writing the numerals 1 up to 10. Some of of the numbers are quite tricky but we tried very hard to make sure they weren't written the wrong way round.

Group Work-Task 1

We used shapes to design 2 houses - a tall house and a wide house. Each house had to have 1 door and 8 windows.

Group Work-Task 2

We used our imaginations to create designs and pictures with cuisinaire rods. (We will soon be using them to help us with our number work)

Our home task this week was to make a spider or an octopus with 8 legs. They were fantastic!!
