6th February

This week we are making sets and ordering them from the smallest to the biggest set. We are also making repeating patterns. We are great at making 2 colour patterns. It is a bit of a challenge when we try making 3 or 4 colour patterns. Our group work tasks this week are all about shape - lots of problem solving required!! Every day this week we are thinking about things we do during the day - morning, afternoon and evening.

Group Tasks

Our group tasks were all challenges to do with shape.

  1. Missing piece game. We had to work out which colour and shape our partner covered up on the baseboard.
  2. Tower challenge. Using building blocks we had  to build a tower without it collapsing. We had to think carefully about the shapes and the positions we put them in.
  3. Shapes around us. Mrs Cummings took us for a 'shape walk' around school. We chose a 2D shape and found things around us that we're the same shape.
